The Challenge
Defense industry contractors and consultants were spending upwards of 20 hours per week manually scouring 11 different government and military procurement websites to identify relevant business opportunities. The sheer volume of contract listings — often running into thousands per day — meant that high-value opportunities were frequently missed or discovered too late. Existing tools in the market offered basic keyword alerts but lacked the contextual understanding needed to match complex defense requirements to a company's specific capabilities and past performance. The client needed a solution that could not only aggregate opportunities but intelligently rank and surface the most relevant ones, dramatically cutting down the time-to-discovery while improving lead quality.
The Approach
We built SalesBridge.ai as a full-stack intelligence platform combining advanced web scraping with dual-LLM analysis. The scraping engine, written in Python, runs on scheduled AWS Lambda functions and processes 11 defense procurement websites in parallel, extracting structured data from varied and often inconsistent HTML layouts. Each extracted opportunity is then passed through a two-stage AI pipeline: first, ChatGPT performs initial classification and entity extraction (identifying contract type, agency, NAICS codes, set-aside status, and key requirements), then Claude API provides deeper semantic analysis to score relevance against a company's capability profile using RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) with the company's past performance documents. The NLP layer handles acronym expansion, military jargon normalization, and cross-referencing with historical win data. The frontend, built in React, presents a clean dashboard with filters, saved searches, and email digest configuration.
The Results
SalesBridge.ai now extracts and analyzes over 500 opportunities daily across all 11 monitored defense websites. Lead quality improved by 75% compared to manual research, as measured by the ratio of opportunities that progressed to proposal stage. The most dramatic impact was on productivity: weekly research time dropped from 20 hours to approximately 30 minutes per analyst. The dual-LLM approach proved critical — ChatGPT's speed handles the high-volume classification while Claude's nuanced reasoning catches subtle relevance signals that keyword-based systems miss entirely. The platform is actively used by defense contractors who report a measurable increase in their proposal win rates since adoption.
